In 2023, we were awarded the "Sustainable Commitment 2024" seal of approval, which was given out as part of a study by the Institute for Management and Economic Research.

More than 195,000 statements on sustainability from around 2,000 of Austria's largest companies were collected and analyzed for the IMWF study. The industry winners, i.e. the companies that were able to impress with their commitment to sustainability, were awarded the seal of approval.

In 2023 we were awarded the Climate Protection Prize Favoriten for Hotel Schani Wien. In cooperation with te Austrian Climate Alliance, the district council of Vienna’s Favoriten district honoured companies and educational institutions, that make a valuable contribution to saving energy.

Hotel Schani Salon won the H&D Award in 2019, a prize for hotels in Austria and elsewhere that feature top product and design quality in a variety of different categories. The cooperation between Schani Salon and the Archisphere architecture and design studio and art director Oskar Kubinecz received first prize the hotel category Interior Design.

Hotel Schani Wien was awarded the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence AUSTRIA in 2018 – an excellence award for Austrian real estate projects that demonstrate innovation and commercial sustainability. The hotel close to Vienna’s Main Station was honoured by the jurors for its diverse, innovative concepts and appealing architecture.

Additionally, we received the H&D Award in 2015, Austria’s only prize honouring businesses in the hotel and hospitality sector for their architectural and design concepts. We won the prize in the category Hotelier/Architecture of the year thanks to our collaboration with the Archisphere architecture and design studio.

Hotel Schani Wien also won the Worldwide Hospitality Award in 2015. This prize is the first and only honour that acknowledges hotels for their pioneering concepts, ranging from the best CSR initiatives and most comprehensive sustainability measures to the most innovative digital concepts. Our unique, digital guest journey secured our win in the category Best Digital Innovation.

Right around the same time as its 2014 opening, Hotel Schani Wien received GreenBuilding Partner status, an honour bestowed on EU businesses that introduce innovative solutions as an investment in a sustainable future. Hotel Schani Wien has integrated cutting-edge technologies for energy-efficient hotel operations from its very start, as part of the FutureHotel innovation network of the Fraunhofer IAO.

By the way, we are green from head to toe, or in other words: from Schani’s rooftop to the garage, as our roof features an in-house photovoltaic system, which generates 10% of our power consumption. Find out more about this in our environmental concept.
