Hotel Schani Wien at Vienna’s new Central Station is a unique building project that is under development at this very moment. Together with the Fraunhofer IAO and other partners, the Komarek family is developing a trendsetting hotel that is expected to open by 2015. Hotel Schani will have a strong local emphasis and cater to the expectations of the modern urban guest.
A completely new part of town is being developed on the 109 hectare (approx. 269 acre) large premises of Vienna’s former Südbahnhof (Vienna South Station) at the moment, featuring numerous offices, shops and service providers, flats, educational institutions, nurseries and hotels. Hotel Schani Wien will be a part of this unique urban development plan and will open as one of the first hotels in the 25 hectare (ca. 62 acres) Quartier Belvedere close to the new Central Station in early 2015. A total of 135 rooms, a comfortable lobby including café and bar, a small garden and a “green oasis” in the hotel’s courtyard will be created in close cooperation with innovative project partners.
Together with the Fraunhofer-Institut für Arbeit und Organisation IAO in Stuttgart, PKF hotelexperts, archisphere architects and a number of other partners, pioneering solutions such as for the booking process, check-in and check-out, as well as for the hotel rooms and lobby, will be developed in the second phase of the “FutureHotel” research project, which is being conducted by the Fraunhofer IAO. These solutions will be used for the first time ever at Hotel Schani Wien and will be evaluated according to their practical benefits. “We want to be trendsetters in the hotel business when it comes to these topics and offer our guests a unique service that makes us stand apart. We want to create a learning hotel in which pure theory meets practice. This will create an exciting situation for the benefit of our guests,” said Mag. Benedikt Komarek, Managing Director of Hotel Schani Wien.
Hotel Schani Wien will differentiate itself from its competitors in the neighbourhood with a unique mixture of Viennese charm and modern design elements. “We want to be a Viennese hotel of the 21st century and this is something our guests should realise the moment they set foot in here. At the same time, we will make sure we can meet all the demands of modern guests,” says Mag. Benedikt Komarek. To do so, working and networking will be key themes throughout the hotel and will be facilitated using trendsetting solutions.
Hotel Schani Wien
Hotel Schani Wien is the second hotel run by the Komarek family from Ottakring – Vienna’s 16th District – after their eco-friendly Hotel Gallitzinberg. This modern hotel with its Viennese charm will open its doors on the site of Vienna’s new Central Station at Quartier Belvedere in Spring 2015. A total of 135 rooms, including 10 studios, a multifunctional lobby and a courtyard garden with a “green oasis” right in the city will await the guests. Managing Director Mag. Bendikt Komarek is continuing his family’s successful hotel tradition with his own trendsetting project and innovative ideas in cooperation with Archisphere architects.
