Miracles happen. We can now celebrate our newly won freedom after months of lockdown with an adventure tour through Vienna’s Neubau and Inner City. This is the home of Hotel Schani Salon.
The time has come. Vienna’s restaurants, hotels and many other businesses are waking up after months of hibernation. Those longed for balmy spring days are coming with that fresh, light feeling. We have been checking out Vienna’s Inner City and its life once more, full of euphoria. We have found five hotspots that stimulate the senses. Now is the time for everything to bloom again, following six months of standstill.

What’s happening in our Vienna Schani Salon neighbourhood?
There is definitely spring in the air. Ready for a city tour through Vienna Neubau and the surrounding areas? You won’t succumb to wanderlust with these five destinations – #WienLiebe:
1. Pizzeria Pop-up: Pronto Volante
Ciao, Servus. Gumpendorfer Strasse, which is not far from Hotel Schani Wien, has got a new pizza pop-up, but not just any pizza pop-up. There is a range of genuine Neapolitan pizzas on the excellent menu for that taste of the Mediterranean. There is also a disco ball hanging from the ceiling of this Italian diner. Italian food to take away. Buon appetito!
2. MQ Amore Crazy Golf Sculpture Park
Trying it is believing it. An art-inspired crazy golf course is opening in Vienna’s city centre in the middle of May. The MQ Amore Minigolf-Skulpturenpark combines art and leisure and brings the style of the 1950s back to life. A walk through the city will remain a pleasure until late in the evening thanks to the integrated snack bar and ambient lighting. The park is open daily from May until 10 p.m. For further information: click here.
3. Frauen*Spuren – On the Trail of Great Women
“At least half of the stories displayed have been written by women* thanks to their work, knowledge, experience, and creativity,” says Petra Ungar – feminist, cultural interpreter, and initiator of the walks for women (Frauenspaziergänge) – about the current status quo in modern story writing. When she acts as your guide, your walk takes in what has been missing from history and what has never been said. The ideal opportunity to see Vienna from a totally different angle.
4. Coffee Lovers Meet Gelato
Baristas, coffee lovers and ice cream buffs will find paradise just a couple of streets from our turn-of-the-century hotel. Gelateria La Romana is no longer really a special, secret tip and there are metre-long queues waiting for something delicious. But don’t worry – waiting times are rarely longer than 10 to 15 minutes. The ice cream parlour offers all sorts of pancakes, Italian desserts, and Italian-style coffees, as well as a range of lovely Italian ice creams. La Dolce Farniente – sweet idleness – begins and ends for us with a cappuccino und gelato a la Romana. It is always worth the visit.
5. Buchteln-to-go at Vienna’s Third “Vollpension” on Mariahilfer Straße
Experience and taste a hearty piece of Vienna not far from Hotel Schani Salon. People with sweet tooths head here after a sunny stroll in Vienna’s largest shopping street, as this eating establishment has become a must see and must taste experience thanks to the new sweet-dough rolls at its Buchtel Pop-Up. As we all know, food is the sweetest love and this is truer than ever thanks to the warm-hearted pensioners at this home-cooking eatery. There are also vegan and gluten-free versions of these sweet, traditional Austrian delights.
Our humour hasn’t gone rusty. Here is a portion for the road. What’s our word of the day?
= get to know or meet someone, to go out and chat someone up
PS: Wherever you find love. Amore in Vienna Neubau. We wish you good luck! That spring feeling is so strong, it cannot go wrong!
